The service department here has changed. It used to be better! It's now overpriced, and the advisors lack transparency. Example: they wanted more than $300 to change an air filter. It's a $45 filter and a 5 minute job. More -- Tony, thanks for your reply. I already expressed my concerns directly. I'm interested in letting other customers know to look at the bill carefully. They may be surprised at $275 an hour -- and questionable/unnecessary procedures. I've been coming to BMW Seattle for more than a decade. This is a new problem.

I've had reasonable experiences here in the past, but not today. Dropped my car here in the morning. Did not hear anything back for a long time. Finally by closing time they informed me that they were not even able to look at it yet.... If they don't have the capacity to service the cars, then they should not be taking the appointment. Don't waste your time.

TLDR - Would not go back or refer anyone I know. Can't be trusted to do the small stuff then can you trust them to do anything? Came in to get advised on a new tire and/or wheel after hitting a pothole on the freeway. SA advised to replace tire (there was a small bubble) and would advise on wheel condition while balancing the new tire. Wheel ends up damaged (photos below) before they even take the tire off. Footage from my dashcam is erased while in their check-in area. SA doesn't offer any explanation but offers $200 off (cost of a wheel refinish) of a new wheel. ------- The only reasons I end up here are because it's close to the light rail and I want a dealership quote for the tort claim I'm sending to WADOT. Make an early (7am) appointment for drop off. SA quickly tells me I'm not due for any service until Oct, where they'd assess the 30k mile service. I tell him about the wheel and we go and look at it. (I'm pretty sure he just wants to get me out the door) He advises to replace the tire at least - there's a small bubble. I ask about the wheel - and he says they'll take a look at how badly it's bent once they get the new tire on. I ask for videos/photos of the underbody in case anything else got damaged from the impact. He lets me know the tire isn't in stock at the service center, they'll be getting it later that afternoon. He quotes me a little high for the tire ($400, ended up being $300), but I'm okay with the markup to get a receipt and photos. I leave for my train and get a video from the tech about a 2.5 hours later (10AMish). The tech got the car on the lift and records a video of the underbody as well as the wheel with the old tire. I see chipping damage in the video (screenshot below) - meaning the damage happens before the old tire even comes off. I wait all afternoon for the call to come back in but don't hear back and decide to call them at 5pm (1hr before they close at 6). No update from the person that answers the phone but the SA ends up calling me about 20mins later and I get there right before closing. I see the damage (photo below) as well as what looks like touch up paint that's orange peeling right next to some of the damage (7oclock on the wheel). I go in to pay for the tire change and have to get the SA to come outside to look at the wheel. He checks it out for 10 seconds and offers me $200 off a new wheel. Says to drive it around for the weekend and see what I think, no explanation on how this happened. I get in, replug my dashcam in (I get it, no one likes to be recorded) for the drive home. Later I figure out all the morning footage (my drive into the dealership up until ~8AM) is deleted. First video is the car in the service check-in area. This makes me think something happened in the check-in area to damage the wheels and someone went to clear the evidence on the dash cam.

Update: I apologize for not updating earlier, but I wanted to share that Rebecca Bridgman reached out to me after I raised my concern. I explained the situation, and she was very apologetic and offered me various options to resolve the issue. They went ahead with the vehicle detailing, and I must say, I received a very clean car. I am happy that they were able to address my concern and fix it. Throughout the entire process of communication regarding the detailing and car service, Trevor Maehl was always polite and prompt in answering my questions. Thank you once again. ***************** I had a really disappointing service experience at a BMW in Seattle and felt compelled to share my negative review. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable, like I owed someone something just for being there. I scheduled an oil change for my BMW 330 and informed them of a few additional issues with my car, such as the heated steering wheel not working and the second key not pairing with the car. My manager, Andrew Massart, informed me that they needed to order parts for the repairs, which would take one week to complete. I left my car with them, even though they didn't have loaner cars available, hoping for a prompt resolution. After 1.5 weeks, my car was still not ready. I decided to pick it up and come back when they were ready to address all issues. When I informed the manager about my decision, I received a strange message that I had to return a loaner car, even though I was never provided with one in the first place. However, my frustration reached new heights when I received my car. The doors, mats, and seats were dirty, and there was even a boot mark on the back seat, despite the fact that I had given them a spotlessly clean car. I was shocked, as I do not allow anyone to put their boots on the seats. As a customer who had also purchased a car from them, I had expected much better service from a reputable dealer like BMW. Unfortunately, they fell short of my expectations. I will not be returning to this dealership again.
